On Saturday, January 25, India will play England in the second Twenty20 International of the series.
The second Twenty20 International between India (IND) and England (ENG) will take place at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday, January 25. The hosts are ahead 1-0 after winning the first Twenty20 International of the series in Kolkata by seven wickets.
After winning the toss in the first series, the Men in Blue decided to field first, and they did a terrific job, dismissing England for just 132. Jos Buttler, who scored 68 off 44 and studded his innings with eight boundaries and two sixes, was the only player who built the tourists’ innings. With three wickets, Varun Chakravarthy was India’s main wrecker. With two wickets apiece, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, and Arshdeep Singh were likewise clinical.
Following the dismissals of Sanju Samson (26) and Suryakumar Yadav (0), the Indian team was having trouble chasing a respectable 133. But Abhishek Sharma’s aggressive play cost England the match. With five fours and eight sixes in his 79 off 34 balls, Sharma destroyed the English assault, especially Adil Rashid and Mark Wood.
Pitch Report
A T20I in Chennai creates an air of uncertainty, although the Chepaul track’s inherent quality is to aid spin. A batting beauty cannot be ruled out, though, since the tracks in the early IPL have proven batting-friendly. Current patterns suggest a flat wicket where dew is unlikely to be a significant factor. As the game progresses, the teams that win the toss prefer to bat first, establishing a challenging score for their opponents to chase.
