Gujarat Giants Women (GJ-W) will face UP Warriorz Women (UP-W) in the third match of the current Women’s Premier League (WPL 2025) at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Sunday, February 16.
Following their last-place finish in the previous season, the Gujarat Giants aimed for a robust beginning in WPL 2025. In their inaugural match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, they set an impressive score of 201/5, thanks to half-centuries from Beth Mooney and captain Ashleigh Gardner. However, the defending champions effortlessly chased down the target, completing the innings in just 19 overs with six wickets remaining.
UP Warriorz will commence their campaign on Sunday, led by their new captain, Deepti Sharma. In the 2024 season, the Warriorz concluded their run in fourth place, narrowly surpassing the Giants. They achieved three victories and suffered five defeats in the eight matches they contested. Deepti and her team will aim to secure a morale-boosting victory to kick off the season.Match Details:
